NHL Playoff DFS, 5/7/2025

We had an exciting first round and now we’re on to number two. Both games tonight should be exciting, with the Florida Panthers trying to avoid going down 0-2 in the series against Toronto and both Game 7 winners from Round 1 squaring off in the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets. The Stars bounced an incredibly strong Avs squad in Round 1 on the back of Mikko Rantannen’s amazing revenge hat trick. The Jets came back in Game 7 to take care of the St. Louis Blues.

In the early going, SaberSim is giving me the most exposure to Dallas. The Stars are always scary to roster because they spread their ice time more than any team, but we’ve seen things concentrate more on the top two lines over the first round of the playoffs. That should make the Stars a safer play tonight. The nice thing about playing them is they are in the late game, so if you need to get more chalky because your lines are doing well, late swap to the Jets will always be an option.

It should come as no surprise that my next highest team is the Jets. And of course, you can do the complete opposite strategy with late swap if you take the Jets, switching over to Dallas to get off some ownership. Nevertheless, things should be pretty spread out tonight. The Jets are a nice DFS team because unlike Dallas, they had very concentrated scoring all season. The first game is where I have the least exposure. I have absolutely no onslaughts of Toronto or Florida, and frankly. not even a 4-man stack of those teams.

That brings me to the stack sizes. Without making any changes to the builder, SaberSim is still telling me that the highest ROI lineups are the 5-manand 6-manstacks. They can be tough to hit on these small slates, but apparently the field as predicted just isn’t getting there nearly enough. So here’s to the onslaughts for tonight’s slate.

Finally, as for top bets in the Paydirt model. Nikolaj Ehlers is popping as the top ROI SOG bet at Under 2.5 Shots on Goal. Tyler Seguin to notch an apple is the best assist bet you can grab at +245. Check out the model on our site for more NHL props. Let’s go!
