Today’s slate is small and the contests aren’t great, but there’s still money to be made so let’s get after it! The sims are indicating that leverage is key for tonight. If you run the sims out of the box without changes, you’ll find that you get an incredible amount of Montreal. The Habs make sense, and they’re usually a team I’m comfortable playing in DFS. The reason is correlation and price. The Canadiens’ EV1 is fully correlated with Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky and you can easily at Lane Hutson at defenseman. The price is right and so is the upside. They won’t have the highest implied total on the slate, but it makes sense to get some exposure here.
SaberSim is really playing the leverage game, with the next highest stack after Montreal being Detroit. The Red Wings are in a tough spot in Tampa Bay tonight, and let’s be honest, they aren’t great. But that means nobody is going to play them, and it’s exactly why the builder is loving the leverage. Detroit tends to take a lot of shots, and while they are often the “low danger” type of chances, if just 1-2 extra go in, you’re in a great spot tonight. That, and the fact that Tampa’s defense is nothing to write home about, makes the Wings look pretty solid in larger-field GPPs tonight.
Last but not least, SaberSim is getting to a healthy dose of the San Jose Sharks. That’s usually pretty scary but after they slammed seven correlated goals in their last game, maybe it’s worth thinking about? It’s late in the season and strange things are happening. That’s definitely what occurred in that SJ-Minnesota shootout a couple nights ago. The Oilers can definitely do a better job taking care of business, but will they? The Oilers can win this any way, and letting a couple extra goals slip may be in the cards. It certainly makes them third in SS’s stacks for the day.
Good luck and remember to drop any questions in Discrod!
