The early projections from SaberSim are leading me to a whole lot of New Jersey on tonight’s slate. That seems a bit too comfortable given Jersey’s total and their opportunity to score against a really weak Chicago Blackhawks squad tonight. The problem, as I see it, is Jersey is probably going to garner a lot of ownership. It seems to me that the ownership just hasn’t tightened yet, and that once it does, the Devils won’t be popping in the sims to the same extent.
That leaves two teams standing out after New Jersey. One is the Edmonton Oilers, who are coming up as the second most represented stack for me in SaberSim. The Oilers are pretty cheap for their projection. It’s naturally down with McDavid and Draisaitl out against a strong Dallas Stars team, but the price is right and the team can still score. The Oilers’ power play can be stacked up pretty easily with some salary room to spare.
Following the Oilers, the early builds got me on the Islanders quite a bit. They’re another team that’s easy to stack up, and despite the low total, they get a middling Vancouver squad tonight that has been going over totals, as of their last couple games. The game between the Isles and Canucks is a toss up, but the team that takes it could get you to a strong lineup with salary room to play some other top guys around your stack.
As always, these top stacks in SS are bound to change as lock approaches and the fantasy point and ownership projections get tighter. For now though, its the Devils, Oilers, and Islanders leading the way as the top plays for Single Entry on DraftKings in the SS model. Good luck!
