Sometimes the contest sims favor diversity and no team stands out. Sometimes the sims see a leverage spot they just can’t avoid. The latter is the case on today’s slate. SaberSim is loving the leverage on the Buffalo Sabres on tonight’s slate, and the sims offered me up 95% of them when I built twenty lineups. I’m definitely going to play some, but I worked down my exposure to Buffalo at 35%. The Sabres aren’t a great team, but what makes them a play is ownership and price. That, and no matter how low the total Tage Thompson can always go off, makes the Sabres a wort while play. I don’t want 95%, but I am still getting to them at a high rate. After the Sabres, I got to a good amount of Dallas and Colorado, a trend that would continue on FanDuel.

On FanDuel, the builder is doing roughly the same thing, but for the Blackhawks. And it’s a similar story, bad team but right price and low ownership. The leverage is there on Chicago on FanDuel. I wouldn’t play the 85% that SaberSim offered me out of the box, but I bumped them down and still kept a healthy amount of exposure to Chicago. After that, I had a Colorado and Dallas, which made me a bit more comfortable.

As far as stack sizing, I didn’t play anything less than a 4/3 on DK (so 4/3, 5/2, 6) and nothing less than a four stack on FanDuel. I think this is one of the easier decisions to make on a large 10-game slate. The possibility for outlier performances is high enough as the games go up, so I want a chance to capture that. This is a similar principle to baseball, which we’re in the throws of right now. Good luck!
