The playoffs have arrived, and luckily DraftKings has increased the size of the flagship. It’s a bit more of a lottery than in recent weeks, but with $20,000 up top there’s also a lot to play for.
I ran some lineups in SaberSim and to no one’s surprise, it gave me a whole host of leverage to the lower projected stacks on the slate. The Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues stuck out as the two top spots on DraftKings, and I really got to them in droves. I’m good with that to an extent, but I want to be sure to get exposure to a lot of spots on tonight’s slate. That said, I spread out my exposures quite a bit, capping St. Louis and Montreal to 25% of those stacks for each team.
The rest of my portfolio became pretty spread out. My highest exposed team after limiting exposures was the Dallas Stars. I never love the Stars in DFS because their scoring tends to even out across their top three even strength lines and not concentrate on any particular player. Nevertheless, they come with a lot of upside and one of the higher totals on the slate. If the ownership is right, Dallas should still work. Plus, they’ll be looking to get revenge against Colorado tonight.
After the Stars, I got to some Edmonton and the Kings on DraftKings. Where I really got to the latter was in single entry. My top ROI lineups for single entry, small field DFS tournaments were the Kings. I’m here for it, and they provide a lot of flexibility for late swapping depending on how the early games play out.
The nice thing about my DraftKings exposures was that they worked well in concert with my FanDuel portfolio. My highest exposed stacks on FD were the Avalanche and Capitals. That makes sense to me, and I like that it spreads out the exposure of my portfolio significantly when you account for both sites.
Good luck and enjoy the playoffs!
